 - The Tower Building was one of the grandest buildings constructed for the 1936 Texas Centennial. Located at the geographic center of the former Texas Centennial grounds, the building features a large 179-foot triangular tower crowned with a golden eagle design designed by Raoul Josset.

 - The facade of the building features two large seals depicting the front and reverse sides of the Great Seal of the United States. Along the base of the facade is a large bas-relief frieze depicting early Texas history from the pioneers, explorers and soldiers that helped shape the country and state of Texas. When first constructed, the building was name the Federal Building and housed exhibitions from; Department of State, Department of Commerce, Department of Treasury, Department of the Interior, Library of Congress, Smithsonian Institute and the United States Postal Service.

 - In 1937 until 1972, the building was named the Electric Building. The tower had the word "ELECTRIC" spelled out in large neon letters down each side and featured two clocks near the top of the structure where the golden eagle once showed. In 1972, the building was renamed "Better Living Center" and featured exhibits for the home and lifestyles. The large signs down the side of the building renamed on the tower until the 1986 redevelopment.

 - In 1977, the building was renamed the Tower Building and has kept that name ever since. In 1999, the building (except the tower and front office space) was completely demolished and rebuilt to 1936 specifications. The front oft he building is still used for office spaces today. The foyer is used for general exhibits and the large open space is used as a large indoor food court.
